So if you haven't seen already I decided to mix up my hair colour and dyed it a pinky, purple colour. I used Colour Freedom's hair dye in the colour Mystic Purple, mixed with their Pastelliser to dilute the colour. They were kind enough to send me both of these along with some cream bleach which I used beforehand to remove any past colour and to touch up my roots.
Here are the products!
So lets get on with my routine!
Start off by washing your hair with shampoo.
Then, towel dry your hair without using conditioner, as the dye acts as conditioner itself.
In a bowl put a large amount of conditioner - the more the better!
Then add the hair dye and mix with the conditioner using a dye brush or your hands (with gloves!)
Mix together until you get the colour you want (it tends to come out brighter so bare that in mind).
Once you've got the colour you like, place an old towel around your neck to prevent dye getting on your clothes.
If you haven't got gloves on already put them on and start rubbing the dye into your hair; focusing on the roots first and then the lengths of your hair.
Leave the dye in your hair for up to 30 minutes - depending on how bright you want it to be.
Then wash the dye out and style your hair how you normally would.
Now you can admire your new hair colour!

This is the same routine I used when I had pink hair and I've found it's the way that works best for me. I tend to dye my hair every 2 to 4 weeks depending on how quickly the colour fades but every so often I will add a little bit of dye to my conditioner to top up the colour. Something I want to point out is that this will ONLY work on bleached hair or very pale hair, otherwise the colour won't show up.
I hope you enjoyed this blog and if you give this a go please let me know as I'd love to see the results!
Best wishes,
Lottie
