A Little Catch Up!

A lot has happened since I made my last post on here; life has changed a little bit haha!

Last weekend I moved out of Brighton back to my family home. I miss Brighton so much already, but I'm planning to visit loads over the next year! I've just started my placement year at uni, so I'll be moving back to Brighton for my final year in September but I'm not too sure what's going to happen before then. I normally love having everything planned out but I think if we've learnt anything from Covid19 you can't always rely on your plans!

One of the reasons I moved back home is on Monday I started interning at Molly Goddard! It's a brand I've always admired and wanted to work for, so I'm very excited to be a part of it all! The position is 3 months but could be extended so we'll just have to wait and see how things go but it's all very exciting haha. I'm working in the atelier so I'm doing lots lot of sewing, sampling and toile making, along with the traditional errand running and tea making haha! Everyone is so lovely in the studio and it's great to be back being creative.

I had a interview for the position via Zoom on a Wednesday a couple of weeks ago and was then asked to go into the studio for a trial day on the Friday; the next Monday I was offered the position and they wanted me to start the next week! This meant I had to move out of Brighton a week earlier than my tenancy, so you can imagine the stress of trying to pack everything up to move on the Sunday! It definitely threw me a lot at first, as I had so many things planned that I wanted to do in Brighton before I moved home but I was so excited by the opportunity there's no way I wasn't going to make it work. And I know I'll be back in Brighton soon!

It's definitely very weird having some structure back in my life after so long of lockdown but I'm loving being busy doing something I love! It's so nice being back in a studio as I've missed that creative environment so much. There's not much I can really say about what I've been upto but I will say I can't wait for you guys to see the next collection!

I'm currently writing this while on my train home from another long day in the studio; I've finished my first week and I'm so excited for what's to come over the next 3 months and I hope you guys will keep following me on this journey!

Stay safe and best wishes,

Lottie x
